Design & Front End Development
Internet Startup
10.20|09 - Present
Chicago, IL
I am currently working with a small team developing a new internet start up. We are currently in stealth mode so no details on the project, but we are hoping to launch later this year. I am the lead designer and front end developer for the project.
Design & Front End Development
AIS Labs
12.20|09 - Present
Chicago, IL
I currently do design and development as a contract employee for AIS Labs in Chicago.
Creative Director
eClick Performance
10.15|06 - 08.15|09
Chicago, IL
What attracted me to eClick was the potential. It was a small start-up only 2 years old when I came on as a design/front-end developer with a total of 5 employees including the owner. I started out exactly as planned doing design and front-end coding of sites, but soon grew to take over design completely.
The company has since grown to over 15 strong and has moved from a brownstone in the Gold Coast to The Loop in downtown Chicago. As Creative Director at eClick I managed the brand and all design, usability, and information architecture that passed through the creative department.
Design & Development
Freelance
04.01|06 - 10.12|06
Chicago, IL
In between gigs I had temp to perm employment at Draft LLC in Chicago where I worked in freelance row for a few months on various projects, Non-Disclosure permits me from mentioning what projects, but the large entrenched agency did not excite me. Things are changing.
Design & Front End Development
CherryOne Web Design
02.15|04 - 03.01|06
Chicago, IL
My first gig out of school was in the pits at a place called Cherry One in Chicago. Basically a sweatshop for web sites where one is their own client manager, project manager, designer, and front-end developer. The back-end developing was handled separately, but I got a taste of everything, including SEO and PPC, and the marketing of webs sites.
Over the years I worked for Cherry One I moved into a Creative Director roll; taking on all the others dissatisfied clients, turing things around and making them happy and delivering the project as promised. Cherry One stressed quantity over quality so I left in the Spring of 2006.
Design & Development
Freelance
12.15|99 - 02.01|04
Chicago, IL
Just before my birthday in December of 1998 I got my first domain name as a gift and was pressured to build my first site and get my fine art portfolio online. After a few years I started to take on other web site build jobs and before I knew it I was headed back to school to finish my degree majoring in New Media Design and Usability.
